About  the  team

Meet Kirsty - the creator behind Inspire

Kirsty is an educator at heart having earned her BA(Hons) degree in Education from Cardiff University in Wales, UK in 2012. Prior, during and since her University days, Kirsty has gained an impressive amount of voluntary and paid experience working with children and young people across many sectors of society both in formal and informal education.

Following graduation, Kirsty moved straight to Australia for a year to work and travel and then landed in New Zealand mid 2013. She is a bubbly, friendly, positive soul who is keen to make a difference in the world through working with young people.

In 2004, Kirsty won the ‘Princess Diana Memorial Award For Services To Young People’ for her region in England - a testament of her dedication to the work she undertook whilst being a young person herself – a prestigious award that she is still very proud of today!

iNSPiRE July Holiday Programme 2019

Kirsty's experiences range from running after schools clubs, holiday programmes, co-teaching Citizenship and PSHE, being a peer mentor, working with disabled children to organising events and fundraising for a successful student led charity, youth participation; representing young people in her home county, attending national and international events for young people in the UK and Europe and most recently running the Wakatipu Girl Guiding Unit in Queenstown for 5 years.

Kirsty's contribution to each community that she have lived in has enabled her to develop a strong sense of social responsibility through volunteering and not-for-profit experience; something that she believes is important to teach young people along with valuable skills that are not necessarily acquired in the classroom.

Kirsty is passionate, energetic and enthusiastic about educating the next generation. She loves to be interactive, creative and engaging when delivering sessions and is keen for positive change – Kirsty is a natural born leader and is proud to be a positive role model to younger generations.

Kirsty really ‘gets’ young people and brings out the best in them!
